“MONITOREA: An integrated monitoring approach to coastal and marine ecosystems as a tool to support conservation and land-use management“
In this session, we will discuss the MONITOREA protocol as a tool for the integrated monitoring of marine and coastal ecosystems. We will present the Dominican Republic’s implementation process, which has achieved successes, faced challenges and yielded lessons learnt. We will discuss the next steps towards promoting the approach set out in this Protocol at a regional level, with a view to facilitating the analysis of comparable data and improving our understanding of the state of these key ecosystems at a regional level.
